Operation ABLE Searching for Southeast Michigan's Top Older Workers
Nominate Outstanding Older Workers by September 13, 2012

Operation ABLE of Michigan, an affiliated company of Spectrum Human Services Inc., is searching for southeast Michigan's top older workers to honor at its annual Ability is Ageless Award Luncheon. "We are looking for outstanding older workers, ages 50 and older, who make everyone's day better through their hard work and dedication," said Mary McDougall, executive director of Operation ABLE of Michigan. "Let us help you recognize your excellent mature workers."To be eligible, a nominee must live or work in Michigan, be 50 years of age or older, currently employed, or have 25 years of service with a company. (Sorry, retirees are not eligible for this award). There is no limit to the number of employees a business or organization can nominate. The Ability is Ageless Awards will be presented at a luncheon on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m.
Operation ABLE of Michigan, an affiliated company of Spectrum Human Services, Inc., is the premier provider of computer and job training for the mature worker (aged 40 and older) in southeastern Michigan. It operates a Center for Working Families in Detroit that provides workforce development, financial coaching and screening for benefits. Major funding for the Center is from the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, in cooperation with United Way for Southeast Michigan, and from the AARP Foundation.
Since its beginning in 1986, Operation ABLE has assisted more than 5,500 people from a variety of fields and demographic backgrounds throughout southeast Michigan and has helped employers fill their needs for experienced workers.
