North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association Honors Dr. David Brooks For Distinguished Service

Local Veterinarian Recognized For Dedicated Veterinary Service

RALEIGH, NC, August 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (http://www.ncvma.org/) has announced that Dr. David Brooks was presented with NCVMA's Distinguished Service award for his longtime commitment to the profession and community. The ceremony was held June 29 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C. during NCVMA's annual Appalachian Mountain Veterinary Conference.

Brooks is a licensed veterinarian at Pembroke Veterinary Hospital in Pembroke, N.C., where he has been practicing for more than 30 years. Along with working as a part-time professor in UNC Pembroke's biology department, Brooks, a UNC-P alumnus, served as the alumni president for two consecutive years, which allowed him to gain exceptional experience in both small and large animal medical treatment. He is a member of both the Lifetime Alumni Association and Lifetime Chancellor's Club at the university.
