The nine-week initiative, which runs through Thursday, Nov. 15, consists of four teams lead by business professionals whose collective goal is to raise $600,000 for Wake Education Partnership. The money will be used to help the group in its efforts to improve student performance in Wake County public schools. The team leaders include:

- Rob Buhler, President, MMI Public Relations
- Damon Dishman, Vice President/Community Bank President, Wells Fargo
- Rodney Gaddy, Vice President for Local Government and Community Relations, Progress Energy

The BUILDING LEADERS initiative will define and guide Wake Education Partnership's delivery of programmed resources to educators and students in their classrooms and schools. It will also bring together representatives from the Wake County business community, elected officials, educators and other nonprofits who are often the key decision makers when it comes to promoting best instructional practices. Through the work of the Partnership, educators will be better able to prepare students with the content knowledge and leadership skills demanded by employers for the workforce of the 21st century.
