Calgary Hosts Renowned Artists

For the 9th year Calgary will host renowned artists from around the world as they take part in the Alberta Bound Tattoo and Arts Festival.

CALGARY, AB, October 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) For the 9th year Calgary will host renowned artists from around the world as they take part in the Alberta Bound Tattoo and Arts Festival. Recognized by some as one of the best tattoo shows in North America artists such as Megan Massacre from NY Ink and Dan Smith of LA INk will be taking part in the Arts Festival.

"It is a very exciting time for us," says Steve Peace, one of the organizers of the festival. "Tattoos have moved out of the back alleys and become mainstream. Some of the art created on skin would be sought after like the works of other great artists if it was on canvas. It takes true artistic talent to do that kind of work on living flesh and we will have much of that talent gathered in one location."

Artists such as Randy Englehard from Germany will be working alongside local talent such as Calgary's own Paul Jeffries at the Stampede BMO Centre on October 12th, 13th, and 14th. In addition observing the competitions between some of the best tattoo talent in the world, Calgarians will get a chance to meet the artists, see their work, and watch them at work. The Tattoo show on the Friday will feature a fire dancer, an aerial performer, a sideshow girl, and a contortionist as well as an exclusive photo shoot by pin up model Masuimi Max.

"This really is an opportunity for Calgarians to see what true quality tattoos look like and appreciate some incredible artistic work," says Steve. "Opportunities to see and meet some of these artists may only come once in a lifetime."
