NORCROSS, GA, October 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) McCart Insurance, a Georgia health insurance provider and broker of Coventry One health insurance, wishes to explain the differences between a health insurance co-pay and co-insurance. With so much insurance verbiage to learn, it can be difficult to understand the subtle differences between them. It can leave clients frustrated, but McCart insurance is here to ease that pain.
If you have Georgia health insurance, chances are good that it does not cover every single healthcare expense 100%, which means that you have to pay any expenses the insurance doesn't cover out of pocket. This is called a co-pay. It is a fixed payment that the insurance will expect you to pay with each office visit and prescription filled.
"Co-pays range with each health insurance, so clients should consider how much they want to pay with each visit, if anything at all," states Alicia McCart, CEO of McCart Insurance, a Georgia health insurance provider and broker of Coventry One health insurance.
Some Georgia health insurance plans will offer what is known as a co-insurance. While co-pays have a fixed dollar amount, co-insurance is a percentage that you must pay for office visits and prescriptions.
Co-pays are used mostly by HMOs for in-network physicians, while co-insurance is mostly used in PPO plans for out-of-network physicians. McCart Insurance advises clients that co-insurance can be rather costly, and this fact should be taken into consideration when choosing a Georgia health insurance plan.
McCart Insurance understands purchasing Georgia health insurance can be difficult, and they are ready to help. With over 40 years of experience in Georgia health insurance, the staff at McCart Insurance, a broker for Coventry One health insurance, can help you decide which health insurance is right for you.
