LAVAL, QC, October 31, 2012 (Press-News.org) Genia Photonics is proud to announce its participation in a mission to Germany which is organized by the Center of International Affairs of Laval Technopole (CAILT) and will be held from November 19 through 23, 2012. The intent of the mission is to present the latest innovations and technologies from leading Laval enterprises to key industrial partners in Germany and meet with German clusters and associations to present the advantages of Laval Technopole to German companies wishing to expand their market presence in Canada.
Genia Photonics will be presenting its latest innovations in optical fiber based laser systems for a diverse range of highly advanced molecular spectroscopy and imaging applications.
The latest technology based upon its flagship Picosecond Synchronized Laser has been demonstrated for biomedical applications and is being assessed by the Department of Homeland Security, USA, for defense and security applications. This state-of-the-art laser configuration is also addressing industrial process monitoring.
For Genia Photonics, the objective of the mission will be to establish opportunities with industry leaders in Germany in the sectors of bio-pharmaceutical and chemical research and production as well as in the sector of defense and security.
"We understand the key operational preoccupations concerning process quality and variations that exist which affect the entire supply chain in the industrial sector," asserts Dr. Alain Villeneuve, CTO of Genia Photonics. "Our technology enables traceability of substances in real time at the molecular level and allows for immediate response for correction to otherwise, potential product quality issues."
Genia Photonics' synchronized programmable laser combines a programmable laser and a Master Oscillator Power Amplifier (MOPA) laser into a single small footprint unit that delivers a single combined and synchronized dual-wavelength output. All parameters are configurable through a simple and intuitive graphical user interface running off a PC. The ability to rapidly sweep wavelengths in any pattern and sequence makes it highly desirable for non-linear spectroscopic applications including coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS). With its core technology platform and advanced electronics, this fiber-based laser can be easily integrated in a system and used for remote detection.
"The synchronized programmable laser has allowed us to penetrate the defense & security and the life sciences sectors'' says Dr. Villeneuve. " Based on the knowledge acquired in these sectors, our technology can be implemented in the industrial, pharmaceutical and chemical industries and we believe that Germany, a worldwide leader in this field, is where we should be."
