LOS ANGELES, CA, November 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) Local foundations have joined forces to underwrite Project Grantsmanship, a 5-day training for Los Angeles County nonprofit organizations with budgets of $10 million or below. But only three Project Grantsmanship trainings remain in the 2012-2013 Cycle.
The purpose of Project Grantsmanship is to strengthen community-based organizations in Los Angeles County by training their leaders to plan more effective programs; produce compelling grant proposals; and collaborate with peer organizations. Through individual exercises and group projects, participants in the training experience the full grant development process — from researching funding sources to writing and reviewing grant proposals. The training, which is presented by The Grantsmanship Center, is partially underwritten by the Annenberg Foundation, the California Community Foundation, Dwight Stuart Youth Fund, and The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation.
Dates of the upcoming Project Grantsmanship trainings are:
• December 10-14, 2012
• February 25 - March 1, 2013
• May 13-17, 2013
Project Grantsmanship is open only to board members or paid staff from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Los Angeles County with budgets of $10 million or below.
For full details, including information on how to apply, visit: http://www.tgci.com/project-grantsmanship/PG2012_2013.pdf.
The Grantsmanship Center has taught people how to develop winning grant proposals for private and public nonprofit organizations since 1972. It established the art of grant proposal development, has over 115,000 alumni, and provides training and support services that are widely recognized as the best available.
