Rebates for Green Home Labels Ending Soon
Los Angeles County announces closure of successful Green Label Rebate Program
LOS ANGELES, CA, December 13, 2012
Increased property value, health and environmental benefits are all reasons that Energy Upgrade in Los Angeles County's Green Label Rebate Program continues to be appealing to homeowners. Due to the success and participation rate in the Rebate Program, Los Angeles County projects that all grant funds allocated for homeowner rebates will be fully committed soon, and has set a program end date of February 1, 2013.The Green Label Rebate Program launched in July 2011 to encourage homeowners to go beyond energy-only retrofits and get a GreenPoint Rated Label for their home, which addresses additional health and environmental benefits such as water conservation and improved indoor air quality. Los Angeles County originally set a goal of 200 Green Label projects and is quickly approaching that number thanks to overwhelmingly positive response from both homeowners and contractors.
The GreenPoint Rated Label is the mark of quality for green home upgrades, verifying that a home has been upgraded to proven green standards. Recent studies have also shown that the label can improve property value at time of sale by up to 9%. Visit the official GreenPoint Rated website for more information on the label.
Homeowners who would still like to take advantage of the Green Label Rebate are encouraged to act now since the program may close to new applications prior to February 1, 2013, depending on participation levels. To be eligible for the rebate, the home must be located in Los Angeles County and must receive a GreenPoint Rated Elements or Whole House label. Visit the official Green Label Rebate Program website for full eligibility and application requirements.
For homeowners interested in energy upgrades, Los Angeles County encourages them to take advantage of incentives of up to $4,000 available through Energy Upgrade California in Los Angeles County, which is expected to continue well into the future.
