NEW YORK, NY, December 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) Combining whimsical magic with a reverent realism, Australian painter Cathy McClelland paints her country's landscape with a graceful sense of mystique. Taking her palette from the natural hues that formulate the majestic Australian countryside and wilderness, McClelland's works are exuberant portrayals of nature, each element conveyed with profound, affecting sensitivity. Light glows in these works, the artist's sense of intrigue at play with her lush, careful but fluid painterly style. Cascading and stirring through the paintings, this light saturates the works in an awesome aura, bringing her innate ardor for the Australian landscape to her work. "My life is my inspiration and my love for the Australian landscape in all its varying forms enables me to create unique beautiful paintings that can be enjoyed by everyone," explains McClelland. The result is art in a range of media which maintains an aesthetic that is dynamic yet tranquil.
Born in Australia, where she still lives, Cathy McClelland loves being out in the 'great outdoors' and finds continual inspiration for her paintings in capturing the 'special moments' she experiences there.
