Dr. Dean Dorfman of East Ocean Podiatry Attends Peripheral Arterial Disease Seminar

Dr. Dorfman aims to help test and treat PAD using the latest industry techniques.

2012-12-13
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL, December 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) Dr. Dean Dorfman of East Ocean Podiatry, the Florida-based podiatry practice specializing in the treatment of heel pain, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, fungal toenails and other foot conditions, attended a Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) seminar September 14th - 15th in Chicago, Illinois.

PAD is a common circulation problem that affects over 17 million people. "Arteries carry blood to the legs, and those with PAD have arteries that become narrowed or clogged due to a build-up of plaque," Dr. Dorfman explained.

A major topic of discussion at the September conference involved the fact that PAD is often considered a hidden disease. "Many people who have arterial vascular disease are unaware of its dangers, which could result in severe complications, limb loss, or even death," Dorfman said.

Dr. Dorfman and his staff at East Ocean Podiatry can perform simple tests in the office, like the Ankle Brachial Index (ABI), to determine the severity of the disease. ABI measures the ratio of the blood pressure in the lower legs to the blood pressure in the arms.

Dr. Dorfman works in a collaborative effect with several vascular specialists in the Boca Raton, Florida, area to help evaluate tests and treat PAD using the latest treatments. He recently added a PAD assessment survey to the East Ocean Podiatry website that visitors can download and fill out before seeing the doctor. The survey helps assess whether or not an individual is at risk for PAD.

In addition to PAD, East Ocean Podiatry provides treatments for conditions like:

• Ankle Sprains and Injuries
• Fungal Toenails
• Hammertoes
• Heel Pain
• Heel Spurs
• Plantar Fasciitis
• Sports Injuries
• Much More

The Nuts and Bolts of Investing Overseas By Marc Hrisko

2012-12-13
Each country has its own rules and restrictions, which can throw a curve ball into an otherwise good investment. Knowing your turf (or knowing someone who does) is key to success. If there are in fact restrictions and uncertainties, why would you want to do it? Because while you will have to do some research, you can get great properties for much less than you would be able to buy them for in the US. Another very attractive incentive is the possibility of extensive tax breaks you might qualify for, being that you don' t live where you invest. This in itself can turn ...
