LOS ANGELES, CA, January 08, 2013 (Press-News.org) Rip Media Group President donates the company's 100th video project to charity, in recognition of the charitable work the Alliance For Education delivers to children's education.

Brands of all kinds need powerful and relevant content to explain the complex work they do. One Los Angeles based marketing agency has specialized on understanding a brand's complex message, condensing it into a compelling video, and driving views to the video and website.

"As attention spans and news feeds from many sources are sent every minute, companies need a new and interesting way to deliver their message. Much of what we do is create the elevator pitch and 'sizzle reel' for businesses. Due to our exponentially fast growth, we were fortunate to be able to allocate the resources to help one of our non-profit clients," said Maury Rogow, the President and head Producer at Rip Media.

Based on the flexible styles and types of animation Rip Media Group produces, they are able to work with many types of organizations. Rip Media Group doubled in size in 2012, making them one of the fastest growing video production agencies on the west coast. The Alliance for Education, based in Seattle, has used Rip Media Group produced video for past black tie fundraisers, some of which can raise enough to fund student and teacher training programs for an entire year.

At the 2012 galas, with political figures and business leaders in attendance, Rip Media's custom video was integrated into the event presentations, giving the head of events the idea to ask for a video that could be 'sold' at auction to raise funds for the cause.

"It is a pleasure to be a partner of an organization making such a positive difference. The Alliance is a very special organization that betters the lives of children. We are proud that we could help," said Mr. Rogow.

The Alliance for Education is on a mission to ensure every child in Seattle Public Schools is prepared for success in college, career and life. Since inception in 1995, the Alliance has worked to cultivate the practice of charitable giving to education causes in Seattle and to build public support for education as a matter of social justice and economic prosperity.

Living cells behave like fluid-filled sponges

2013-01-07
Animal cells behave like fluid-filled sponges in response to being mechanically deformed according to new research published today in Nature Materials. Scientists from the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN) at UCL have shown that animal cells behave according to the theory of 'poroelasticity' when mechanically stimulated in a way similar to that experienced in organs within the body.
