ATLANTA, GA, February 07, 2013 (Press-News.org) Coach Cain emerges from his car; having no problem maneuvering around with his signature walker and his eyes look determined - ready to conquer the music world. "Coach Cain" a name that the artists on his label affectionately gave him does adequately explain how Coach Cain whose legal name is Rasheen Jones treats the artists on his independent record label, N.C.A.A. Records. "I call myself "coach" because it was a nickname given to me by the artists I manage on N.C.A.A. and yes it has to do with us being N.C.A.A. themed - we love basketball," said Coach Cain. For the last 10 years, Coach Cain has had a passion for music and the music industry itself. It has always been his goal to have his own label and help talented artists reach their highest potential. Almost 5 years ago, Coach Cain's life was changed forever when he and one of his artists, P.C. Da Prince (also his brother) were shot in a home invasion. Coach Cain was paralyzed from the waist down and had to learn how to walk again. He is now able to walk with the help of leg braces and a walker. He never let his new disability prevent him from pursuing his craft and passion - music and music management. "My personal life struggles have influenced me greatly because I have been through a lot in my life. My latest struggle to learn how to walk again has shaped me and my music the most," said Coach.
Right now, NCAA Records is working on the follow up to their critically acclaimed mix tape compilation "Black Boy / White Boy Swag" with the highly anticipated mixtape - "N.C.A.A. presents Black Boy / White Boy Swag Part Two. "When I write my lyrics, I am writing about my life, where I'm from, what I see. I am doing it for the people who believe in me and for the people in my neighborhood. My music allows me to express how I feel and how I live," said P.C. Da Prince. "Music is my life, so that is all my music is about - but the hard times in my life made me a better artist and helps me to relieve stress. Music helps me to get things off my chest and off my mind." Coach Cain is also in the studio working his follow-up to his recently released mixtape, "Building Of A Dynasty" (Hosted by DJ E-Dub and DJ Cassius Cain). His hit single "Doin Numbers" has created a heavy buzz in the streets of Atlanta and Macon, Georgia.
"Doin Numbers" and other music that the artists on N.C.A.A. Records are working on right now, (Coach Cain, Blackstone, Flyro Jiro, and P.C. Da Prince) can be heard at http://www.coachcain.com. You can catch Coach Cain and N.C.A.A. Records recording artists performing on March 16, 2013 at Atlanta's Annual A-Town Day Healthcare Festival hosted by Brian Glasper of the B-Aware Foundation.
