Stewart Relocates Durham Office To New Downtown Location

North Carolina Engineering And Landscape Architecture Firm Moves Office To The Heart Of Downtown Durham

2013-03-01
DURHAM, NC, March 01, 2013 (Press-News.org) Robert Macia, PE, LEED AP, president of Stewart (http://www.stewartinc.com), one of the largest engineering and landscape architecture design firms in North Carolina, has announced that the firm has relocated its Durham office to the historic Kress Building at 101 West Main Street in Downtown Durham. Stewart is the result of a recent merger between Stewart Engineering and HadenStanziale, a landscape architecture and civil engineering firm that has been located in Durham since 1986 and is dedicated to the community. This move will allow Stewart to continue its commitment to the entire Durham region.

The new 5,100-square-foot office is located in the heart of revitalized downtown Durham. Once the site of a highly recognized "five and dime" department store called S.H. Kress & Co., the building is an art deco architectural gem. The floors are the original polished Terrazzo and the corner curvilinear glass gives wonderful light and exposure into the office's lobby. Located on street level, the storefront space makes it easy for clients to park on the street and access the office, while providing a view of street activity to Stewart staff members and visitors. The building's central location provides easy access to many restaurants and entertainment venues as well as public offices in downtown.

QUOTES:
"Our new office is an exciting sign of the long-term presence we plan to have in Durham," said Macia. "HadenStanziale was a part of significant projects here for many years, and we plan to continue to serve the Durham area in this same capacity and beyond. We are very pleased with our new location and are honored to be part of the growing and revitalized downtown community."

"We have been longtime residents of Durham and have enjoyed being part of the revitalization and growth of the city," said George Stanziale, senior vice president and director of the Design Studio at Stewart. "We look forward to bringing an increased offering of professional services here, and hope to continue to be an integral part of the Durham community for many years to come."

DETAILS:
- Stewart has additional offices located in Raleigh, N.C., and Charlotte, N.C.
