PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 16, 2013 (Press-News.org) A recent article from InvestorPlace contends that the consumer electronics industry is in need of a jolt--and Zero4All agrees. The InvestorPlace article contends that, while R&D has driven the consumer electronics industry to amazing heights of innovation in the past, recent years have found the industry growing stagnant, releasing endless iterations of redundant technologies. Zero4All has issued a statement to the press, commenting on the article and offering its basic agreement.
"We happen to agree that, for many companies, new product research and development have taken a back seat," remarks Zero4All in its press statement. "Moreover, these companies have become content with piggybacking off the successful efforts of others brands and manufacturers. In fact, we would go ahead and say they are content making knock-off copies of already-successful products. Some companies not only seem content with making knock-offs, they have become experts at the process and are turning handsome profits from their efforts."
Continues the Zero4All press statement, "The article points out that this happens in the automotive industry every year, and we at Zero4ALL see this same process filter all the way down to smaller consumer items like shoes and handbags."
This trend away from new product development may be present in many industries, but Zero4All contends that it is most pronounced in consumer electronics. "We do believe that some companies in the electronics industry may have even done away with their Research and Development Staff and replaced them with Undercover Product Spies," the company claims. "This may sound like a plot from a movie, but we find it shockingly convenient that electronics companies can somehow launch knock-off products so remarkably fast. It really makes us wonder sometimes if there really could be spies working inside this industry."
Concludes the Zero4All press statement, "The bottom line is that this process of copying the other company's successful products certainly isn't a shock to us anymore."
Nevertheless, the company maintains that its own database of products--available for free, in exchange for product reviews--is filled with products of high levels of quality. "Our manufacturers' database is filled with brand names and slightly altered copies of re-branded products from manufacturers all across the globe. All products make it into our manufacturers' database and have the same equal chance of being marketing to consumers in the end."
Zero4All maintains a large database of consumer products, available to the site's members free of charge.
ABOUT:
Zero4All is a one-of-a-kind program that allows consumers to access a sprawling database of manufacturer products, and then to receive many of those products, directly from the manufacturers and totally free of charge. The company works by putting consumers in touch with manufacturers who are legally required to give away sample and "demo" products in order to maintain their corporate tax advantages. Members can select the product they wish to receive, and then get them for free, simply by agreeing to write brief product reviews. The Zero4All product database includes more than 2,500 items, many of them consumer electronics.
