Virginia Veterinary Medical Association Announces 2013 Distinguished Virginia Veterinarian Award

Dr. Tena Boyd Receives Honor For Standard Of Excellence And Dedicated Service To The Profession Of Veterinary Medicine

MARSHALL, VA, April 17, 2013

The Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (http://www.vvma.org/) has announced that Tena Boyd, D.V.M., of Old Waterloo Equine Clinic, received the 2013 Distinguished Virginia Veterinarian award for her standard of excellence and dedicated service to the profession of veterinary medicine. Dr. Boyd was presented with this prestigious award at the 2013 Virginia Veterinary Conference on Friday, March 1 at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, located at 110 Shenandoah Ave in Roanoke, Va.

Dr. Boyd received her bachelor's degree in animal science from Virginia Tech and her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM). She joined Old Waterloo Equine Clinic in Marshall, Va., in 1996 and became a permanent partner of the practice in 2000. Her special veterinary interests include equine breeding management and reproductive medicine, neonatal medicine, as well as preventive health care. Dr. Boyd co-chaired the very successful first Ride for the Cure in Virginia in 2009, which raised more than $125,000 for breast cancer research.
