Greenomics 2010, a conference jointly hosted by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water (MoEW), leading technology innovator in consumer electronics, LG Electronics and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) is set to urge UAE business leaders to adopt more sustainable practices in their production of goods and services.
Garnering insights and case histories from more than a dozen experts and industry leaders, the conference will focus on the concept of 'clean production' and how sustainability changes do not have to affect a company's bottom-line and in many cases, actually has a positive impact.
From a UAE perspective, the event will be supported by leading business heads who will share how their adoption of international conventions, standards and local laws associated with the environment have worked to increase productivity and reduce their ecological footprint.

Beverly Thorpe, Co-Founder of Clean Production Action, an advocacy non-profit organisation that designs and delivers solutions that promote the adoption of green initiatives and product eco-design amongst other practices, will introduce best practice policies and strategies around the implementation of clean production.
Having been invited as guest lecturer by more than 60 Universities around the world and supported by over 300 organisations in the implementation of clean production, Dr. Donald Huisingh, Senior Scientist in the Sustainable Development Center for Clean Production and Clean Technology from the University of Tennessee, USA, will add weight to the discussion by looking at Sustainable Development and Green Economics.

"Initiatives such as clean production drive businesses to truly evaluate their environmental protection efforts and recognise that eco-friendliness is a vital part of product development, manufacturing and distribution."
