EXPOSURE Concert Returns to Buffalo, Survivor's Plea for Uniting Against Domestic Violence

In an effort to unite on a global level through music, domestic violence survivor Suzanne Perry spearheads the 'EXPOSURE Concert:' a 3-day, 2-stage concert that will live stream. Her growing support clearly indicates the need for more action.

ORCHARD PARK, NY, June 09, 2013

Just outside of Buffalo, NY, Suzanne Perry feared for her life too many times to recall. Her husband would hold her against her will, beat and rape her. Scare to leave and scared to stay, at age 17, Perry lost her freedoms, her pride, her dignity, but never her hope. She would go off the map for the next 22 years.

Finally escaping in 2007, Perry spent a year figuring out what happened and how to find herself again. She finally made a connection and decided to break her silence.

The first "EXPOSURE Concert: Because love shouldn't hurt" went live in 2010 which was very well-received, being viewed from 8 countries. Since, Perry regularly appears in the media, sharing her story of abuse and survival. She educates and empowers, via the nonprofit she founded in 2010, OP Music House.

This year's EXPOSURE Concert will be June 28-30 at a restaurant called The Cove Seafood & Banquets. A vendor fair was added. A 7 foot blank canvas serves as a guest signature book and visitors can sign and reflect with markers, paints, glitter, sequins and other embellishments.

"It's a weekend of peace, sharing, and a lot of love. It's to give thanks for each other, and to show others that it's completely do-able to live a full, productive life outside the cycle of abuse!" Perry reports.

Sponsors include Regal Tip drum sticks, Certo Brothers, Yorkville Sound, with several local businesses also donating items and gift certificates for raffle baskets.

The show is free all weekend to attend and to view, and people around the world are invited to chat. Fifty-two bands are scheduled to play. For a $5 donation, Perry will read a greeting on the live webcam.
