Top NYC Mount Sinai Hospital-Affiliated Gastroenterology Practice Opens Westchester County Office

SCARSDALE, NY, June 22, 2013 (Press-News.org) New York Gastroenterology Associates (NYGA), one of the top gastroenterology practices in Manhattan, has opened a new office at Two Overhill Road in Scarsdale, NY. NYGA's Mt. Sinai Hospital-affiliated gastroenterologists and internationally-recognized pathologists will offer the residents of Westchester County and the surrounding areas cutting-edge, quality care combined with convenient, easy scheduling and the low-stress experience that comes with personal concierge-level service. In addition, the new practice will offer Westchester residents the benefits of NYGA's pathology lab located in the New York City office so that all patients receive results within 24 hours.

Patients at NYGA's Westchester County facility in Scarsdale will be seen by Dr. Neville Bamji and Dr. Savreet Sarkaria. Both have presented their extensive research findings within the United States and abroad.

Dr. Bamji is a clinical instructor of medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He received his undergraduate degree in 1998 from Johns Hopkins University and his MD in 2002 from Cornell University Medical College. He subsequently completed internship and residency training in
Internal Medicine in 2005 at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Campus and
then went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology in 2008 at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Campus. His research interests include colorectal cancer screening and wireless capsule endoscopy.

Dr. Sarkaria graduated from The Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann Medical College and completed her medical residency at Temple University Medical Center. She then completed her gastroenterology fellowship, followed by a fellowship in advanced endoscopic procedures at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Upon completion of her training, she spent eight years practicing gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy at New York Presbyterian Hospital- Cornell, where she pursued her clinical and research interests in screening for gastrointestinal malignancies, colon cancer screening, disorders of the gallbladder and pancreas, Women's Digestive Health, and diarrhea including post-infectious diarrhea and probiotic use.
