NEW YORK, NY, April 05, 2014 (Press-News.org) Katerina Baitinger, Ph.D., is wrapping up the preliminary work before launching her new company in New York, Assessment Plus, Higher Education Consulting Services. The company is an Assessment Consulting Company, and Katerina Baitinger wants it to further her goal of improving higher education in the United States.
The State of New York Department of Education recently approved Katerina Baitinger's plans, paving the way for Assessment Plus, Higher Education Consulting Services.
Since completing her own undergraduate and post-graduate work, Katerina Baitinger has devoted her life to education. She received her BA in Classics from the University of California, Irvine; her MA in English and Comparative Literature from San Diego State University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Athens.
Katerina Baitinger has spent much of her professional life in university administration. She served as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kean University in Union, New Jersey; was Dean of Arts and Sciences, St. Joseph's College, Patchogue, New York; Assistant Dean at William J. Maxwell College of Arts and Sciences at New Jersey City University; and before that the Academic Advisement Coordinator at Middlesex Community College in Middletown, Connecticut.
Katerina Baitinger has also spent time in the classroom. She has taught writing, literature, and philosophy courses since 1992, has held a Yale University Fellowship in Teaching and Learning, a Leadership Fellowship, and has had extensive experience in program development.
All of this provides Katerina Baitinger the necessary training for her new venture. Through her new assessment consulting company, Katerina Baitinger aims to provide support to students seeking to expand their horizons, explore new ideas, and enrich their knowledge. "This is an exciting time for any new business," Katerina Baitinger says. "The potential to help others continues to grow every day."
Katerina Baitinger is known as a hard work who is driven to excel in whatever she project she commits her talents to. "She is completely dedicated to everything she does," says one colleague. "She works with everyone individually as though they're the only person in the world."
With her background, Katerina Baitinger is poised to make a major impact with her company. Once Assessment Plus, Higher Education Consulting Services officially launches, she hopes that she will be able to have a positive impact not only in the way students are assessed in the classroom, but also in the way institutions of higher learning are assessed as a whole. Katerina Baitinger believes that one of the issues in education today classroom is the use of technology to promote a positive learning environment inside and outside of the classroom.
Katerina Baitinger advocates the use of humor in higher education and has even penned numerous articles and essays defending her position. The notion is folded into her ideas about improving education, which themselves flow from her experience with the theory of multiple intelligence. This is is the idea that everyone learns differently, and that human intelligence is a multi-layered behavior; there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching.
Katerina Baitinger is a member of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Association of American Colleges and Universities, and has been a member of the Connecticut Consortium for Enhancing Learning and Teaching.
About: Katerina Baitinger is an academic lauded for her commitment to education.
