SAN DIEGO, CA, April 05, 2014 (Press-News.org) Harish Hosalkar, a highly lauded surgeon in the orthopedics community, was a major figure in the opening of the Center for Hip Preservation and Children's Orthopaedics in San Diego in 2013.

As the Center's current Director, Hosalkar provides a bottomless resource of orthopaedic knowledge and experience. His hip preservation and pediatric orthopaedic experience and expertise make him a valuable leader and guide. With 14 years in the orthopaedic field, Dr. Harish Hosalkar has helped orthopaedics make substantial progress. His orthopaedic contributions have been large and many. Hosalkar began his foray into medicine in the early 1990s. Trained at the University of Mumbai, Harish Hosalkar was a prized pupil who excelled in nearly all of his subjects. He ranked highly amongst his peers and won many awards and scholarships. Dr. Harish Hosalkar's hard work and perseverance led him to the completion of several residencies and fellowships. After his initial residency Hosalkar completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and has an AO-Hip Preservation Fellowship at Inselspital, Bern, Switzerland.

As the head of the Center for Hip Preservation and Children's Orthopaedics, Dr. Harish Hosalkar will make advanced technology and technique an integral part of treatment. Hosalkar believes that traditional surgical methods can be enhanced and improved when combined with technological advances. Coupling technology with proven treatment methods, says Harish Hosalkar, can make a huge difference in the quality of treatment.

A 15-year veteran of orthopaedics, Dr. Hosalkar has devoted a great deal of time and energy to improving the state of orthopedic medicine.
