WORCESTER, MA, November 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Clinical Pharmacology Study Group (CPSG) announced its autoimmune educational series for the remaining quarter of 2010. The educational series will focus on a wide array of autoimmune diseases and will air on three local television stations; Worcester, MA Channel 13 SOAPBOX, Health Matters, Community Alerts; Channel 11 Seniors on the Move Westborough TV and (FATV) Weekly Wellness Fitchburg local access TV station.
Channel 13 TV will air "Stop Hiding - Start Living. Psoriasis" on SOAPBOX. Show Producer, Mauro DePasquale interviewed Dr. Charles Birbara and Mary Coughlin about this prevalent disease. This show will air in November 2010.
Channel 13 Health Matters will feature an informative show on Scleroderma in December 2010. Dr. Bruce Karlin will be interviewing Dr. Charles Birbara on this very debilitating autoimmune disease.
Channel 13 is currently broadcasting CPSG clinical study enrollment alerts on seven unique autoimmune diseases. These alerts will air on Saturdays and Sundays 9:30 am, 5:00 pm, and 9:00 pm and on Mondays at 11 am ET during News 13 airtime. Open enrollment starts in October 2010 and will end in March 2011.
Channel 11 Seniors on the Move, produced by Karen McKenzie, recently featured; "Is Arthritis Crippling America?" with guest Dr. Charles Birbara and Mary Coughlin. This show is now available as video-on-demand at Westborough local access TV website and at http://www.cpsgma.com website.
Weekly Wellness, produced by Amy Green, will feature a half hour show on "De-Mystifying Clinical Studies" with Dr. Charles Birbara and Mary Coughlin from CPSG. This show will run in December 2010 on Fitchburg Access TV.
Dr. Charles Birbara is recognized as an expert in the field of autoimmune diseases. He has an established rheumatoid arthritis practice and is a Staff Physician at UMASS Memorial Medical Center and St.Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. Dr. Birbara's passion for learning has earned him a position as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. Dr. Birbara is the Medical Director at the Clinical Pharmacology Study Group and a graduate from Harvard College with a B.A. in Biology and continued on to receive his M.D. at McGill University. Mary Coughlin is the registered nurse for the Clinical Pharmacology Study Group.

About Clinical Pharmacology Study Group
The Clinical Pharmacology Study Group (CPSG) was established in 1989 in Worcester, Massachusetts by Doctor Birbara and Mary Coughlin, RN. The group has been involved in the field of rheumatology study since 1975. The practice has worked with traditional anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) in conjunction with stomach protecting agents. The group has a history of working with Celebrex, Vioxx, Bextra, and other COX II inhibitors. In the late 1990's, we entered the era of biologicals for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
CPSG is continuing to expand work with biologicals in the areas of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and Chrohn's disease. CPSG is also participating in many new trials for fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, gout, and lower back pain.
