Cathy Richardson with special guest Wendy Colonna, September 12
Cathy Richardson makes her Mayne Stage debut Sunday, September 12 with an opening guest at 8:30 p.m., followed by special guest Wendy Colonna at 9:20 p.m. and ending with Richardson at 10:20 p.m.
Chicago singer/songwriter/Rock Goddess Cathy Richardson returns home for a rare solo, acoustic performance at the beautiful Rogers Park performance space, Mayne Stage. To see Richardson live is as much concert as it is a transcendent experience, she conjures up spirits and makes magic, hair raises on the back of your neck as her voice vibrates waves of energy that seem to penetrate directly into your soul. You have been physically changed. You are a believer.
"For my money, Richardson is the best singer in the city and, when she's at her best, in rock today." says chicagoconcertgoers.com critic Dave Miller. Renaissance Woman Richardson could also be called "the hardest working woman in show-business," independently releasing seven award winning albums (billed solo and as Cathy Richardson Band, including the 2004 GRAMMY Nominated Road to Bliss, and 2007 DIY Album of the Year Delusions of Grandeur) starring as Janis Joplin in the acclaimed Off-Broadway and National casts of Love, Janis, and since 2008, touring as lead vocalist for Jefferson Starship. Her latest project, the Macrodots, is a collaboration with San Francisco guitarist and producer Zack Smith. Their debut album the Other Side (available now on iTunes) contains all the hooks and thought-provoking lyrics that fans expect and, with Smith's modern rock influence, showcases Richardson's fearsome voice in a way not captured until now. Their hit single Every Time can currently be heard on Chicago's 93XRT.
Wendy Colonna is an award-winning songwriter and performer of southern soul and poetic lyricism borne of her rich Gulf Coast heritage. Evocative and powerful, her voice ignites both memory and desire. Colonna was voted "Best Singer Songwriter" in Austin, and received the grand prize in the "Famecast International Talent Competition" among other songwriting awards. Her latest album, We Are One, is a harnessing of her Louisiana roots with a collection of songs that are soulful with Gulf Coast harmonies.

Colin Tyler, September 16
Indie rock/pop artist, Colin Tyler makes his Mayne Stage debut with a concert on Thursday, September 16 at 8:30 p.m.
To insert a typical bio here, listing bands and accomplishments, in order to get to know Colin Tyler is to misunderstand him and his music. Perhaps the best explanation of Colin and his music come from his own words in a recent interview, "... It is my firm belief that here and now our culture is standing at the threshold of a revival; and not just musical, but of all things synthetic. We are begging for something honest and pure in all aspects of our existence; from the foods we eat, to politics and the information we receive, right down to music and art... Music is not supposed to be perfect, it is supposed to be honest..." Colin's music is about the story telling, the experience, the precise moment at which your paths cross to form a real memory that will have an effect which will ripple through your time and your space long after you leave the show.
