HPG Partner Named to Wake Tech Foundation Leadership Team

Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP announces today that Larry Hamilton, firm partner, has been selected to serve as the 2010-2011 treasurer of the Wake Tech Foundation.

RALEIGH,NC, August 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (www.hpg.com), the largest CPA firm headquartered and staffed in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, announces today that Larry Hamilton, firm partner, has been selected to serve as the 2010-2011 treasurer of the Wake Tech Foundation (http://foundation.waketech.edu). Hamilton, a board member since 2007, will assist in raising and managing funds, fostering relationships with potential donors and establishing policy and procedures.

"The foundation plays a key role in advancing the programs and opportunities at Wake Tech," says Hamilton. "I am excited to expand my role on the board and look forward to the opportunity to serve as treasurer."

Hamilton has more than 20 years of public accounting experience. He has been with HPG since 1999, becoming partner in 2001. He serves clients in numerous industries, including: technology development, financial institutions, manufacturers, real estate, service businesses and non-profit organizations. Hamilton also remains active in the community. In addition to his work with the Wake Tech Foundation, he is a graduate of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Leadership Raleigh program, is on the board of the Raleigh Kiwanis Club, and serves on the NCACPA Tax Committee and the Wake County Estate Planning Council.

The Wake Tech Foundation builds relationships with private investors and opens avenues that enable Wake Technical Community College to continue to offer educational and training opportunities to individuals in Wake County and surrounding communities. Foundation programs provide scholarships and emergency financial aid to students. One such program is the Fostering Bright Futures Fellowship, which assists young people in making the transition from the Wake County Foster Care System to independent adulthood. Additionally, the foundation supports faculty and staff through tuition assistance for continuing education and professional development. Each spring, it recognizes them for their contributions through the Excellence in Teaching and Service Awards. A total of 13 awards are distributed at the annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Dinner.
