Ms. Karen Chassin Goldbaum Named Communications Officer at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan

She will support the Community Foundation's strategic goals for education and outreach

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, August 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Karen Chassin Goldbaum has joined the Community Foundation as communications officer. She will support the Community Foundation's strategic goals for education and outreach through a variety of existing and new initiatives. She will also provide communications strategy and support to the New Economy Initiative, a project of the Community Foundation Michigan.

Ms. Goldbaum most recently served as director of communications for the University of Michigan Museum of Art through its successful campaign to expand and renovate its facility, part of the $3.1 billion Michigan Difference Campaign. She led the museum's rebranding and the marketing campaign for its 2009 grand reopening. She previously served as the museum's senior editor and head of publications. Goldbaum holds a master's degree in English literature from the University of Toronto and a bachelor's in English from Miami University in Ohio. She is a trained community mediator and a former board member of the Dispute Resolution Center of Washtenaw County.

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is a permanent community endowment built by gifts from thousands of individuals and organizations committed to the future of southeast Michigan. The Foundation works to improve the region's quality of life by connecting those who care with causes that matter. The Foundation supports a wide variety of activities benefiting education, arts and culture, health, human services, community development and civic affairs. The optimistic news comes from the latest British Meetings & Events Industry Survey (BMEIS) of 600 leading event marketing organisers in the corporate and association sectors.
