LONDON, ENGLAND, December 07, 2010

There is a 10 hour time difference between England and Australia when the Ashes Cricket match between England and Australia begin. This can be a real problem even for the most die-hard cricket fans.

A typical Ashes match will begin at 0000 GMT with the days play wrapped by breakfast time. So how much coverage will fans watch or listen to?

Experts suggest that by having carefully timed naps, caffeinated drinks, keeping yourself stimulated and avoiding certain foods will give fans an edge to catch as much as possible.

According to Professor Jim Horne from the Sleep Research Centre at Loughborough University it can take anything up to a week to get used to a new sleeping pattern. But there are certain things you can do if you've got no time to ease into the switch, such as:

* Take a 15-minute nap around 2am and then again around 4am, but Immediately before the nap have a coffee or other caffeinated drink
as it will kick in just after the nap finishes
Avoid naps longer than 15 minutes as deep sleep is harder to awake from.
* Keep your mind stimulated during periods of dull play by talking to friends
* Avoid heavy meals, sugary drinks and alcohol
