CJM, a proactive accountancy firm based in Ayr, has enhanced its current Charity Accounting services by redeveloping its Independent Review service, saving Charities money by moving them from an expensive Audit.
CJM are members of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and therefore can provide the external scrutiny to meet the Scottish legal and OSCR requirements
OSCR in its own document have stated that an independent examination is a form of external scrutiny which is less costly than an audit. In Scotland, more than two thirds of charities are 'small' - with an annual income of less than GBP25,000. To those firms specifically CJM can offer a very low cost independent review service.

An independent examination will look at a charity's accounting records and annual accounts and consider whether they are a fair reflection of the underlying records and present an accurate picture of the financial activity of the charity during the accounting period.
