Vinyl Records Are Here To Stay

Vinyl never really disappeared, and why is that, you wonder? SoundStage Direct explains why Vinyl Records are still musically relevant, and yes, valuable, despite the modern era's obsession with digital music.

2010-12-17
DOYLESTOWN, PA, December 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) Anyone who grew up with their parents listening to a vinyl album of the Beatles or Hendrix can probably only faintly recall what awe transpires when a song from a vinyl album is played. In today's modern age of CDs, mp3 players and DVDs, it seems that nobody remembers vinyl or appreciates it anymore, much less care to be curious about it. However, the guys over at SoundStage Direct beg to disagree. A healthy number of Vinyl-appreciating audiophiles still exist. Surprised?

While majority of today's music enthusiasts would never bother to get hold of an album in vinyl format, there are some who still prefer this over the digital format. Why is this so? SoundStage Direct believes that this is largely because of the unique sound that emanates only from a good vinyl album.

Unlike songs in an mp3 format or CD, a Vinyl Record had the sounds grooved into it. This means that the record consequently mirrors the original waveform of the actual sounds recorded. To simplify, the listener tunes into what was exactly being recorded, losing nothing when the record is being fed into a speaker.

A CD, according to SoundStage Direct, takes on the digital format when recording. You will hear this clearly when you blast that CD up with your giant speakers. Although hugely enjoyable, some listeners keen on only receiving quality audio prefer to listen to music as it was originally recorded, without conversions. Raw and alive, that is what a Vinyl Record collector looks for in the vinyl listening experience.

Another thing that people like about vinyl is that it takes effort to play it. While some may find this taxing and altogether unnecessary, some music fanatics clearly don't mind doing this musical labor of love.

For them, taking out the turntable from the shelves, selecting the perfect album, and finally finding the right groove before instantly playing a track is something they feel they owe to their idols.

Vinyl Records find support in these types of listeners who don't mind doing extra work just to enjoy a song from Elvis or Bob Dylan. In fact, SoundStage Direct believes they might even enjoy it.

If you belong to the Vinyl-appreciating side of the music industry, you can find interesting records at SoundStage Direct's impressive collection. The company has new releases and LPs all in, yes, lovely lovely vinyl.

With the increase in interest of the vinyl market, there's no telling where the industry is headed. But one thing is certain: vinyl is here to stay.

SoundStage Direct, LLC is an online independent store based in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. SSD has the largest selection of new releases and vinyl reissues online. And you don't want to miss amazing closeout deals available at our LP outlet! We have vinyl LPs in every genre and in a variety of formats available ready to be shipped at your doorstep.
