MESA, AZ, September 07, 2010 (Press-News.org) Registration for vendors, exhibitors and leaders in the beauty industry is now being accepted for the cosmetology studentâEUR s Educational Forum 2010, scheduled Oct. 24 and 25 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Vendor participation is limited and conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration and information is available online at http://www.eduforum2010.com/.
Forum coordinators invite leading artists and industry leaders to showcase their latest trends in hair, skin and makeup, on and off stage, to some of the top cosmetology students in the U.S. On stage demonstrations and training slots are available for $100 for a 30-minute slot.
The event revolves around a three-event student competition that includes: Three-Person-Team Total Look Competition; Mannequin Bridal Competition, as well as a Mannequin Fantasy Competition.
Cosmetology students from I.T.S Academy, Olympian University, International Academy of Hair Design, Aladdin Beauty and Hair Benders Academy will participate in the contest.
Students are encouraged to pull out the stops on their themed entry to create a hair and makeup idea that wows the judges, spectators and fellow students. Each entry is judged based on creativity, originality, innovations, color and theme.
âEURœThis student competition is one of the most dazzling and creative endeavors of its kind,âEUR said Jessica Wolman, one of the owners of the 21 cosmetology schools competing in the event. âEURœIn addition to the excitement, it is a great opportunity for our talented students to meet with our exhibitors, as well as network with local and national salon and spa chains for potential employment opportunities once they have obtained their license.âEUR
Wolman said that show exhibitors are also welcome to donate prizes for the competitions. Past winners have received publicity in trade publications, as well as features in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas media.

Postal Service Ups Postage Rates - Direct Mail Stands Strong
2010-09-07
Despite a recent announcement from the Postal Service that they intend to raise postage rates again, there are those in the direct mail industry remaining optimistic. The hike would take the price of a first-class stamp from 44 cents to 46 cents while also affecting all other postage rates to a similar degree.
With such a dark cloud looming over their heads, one would expect the leaders of the direct mail industry to be up in arms. For the most part, that's an accurate picture, but there is one industry heavyweight who doesn't seem concerned.
