Love Our Children USA Mothers Who Make A Difference Awards 2011

Love Our Children USA announced the Sixth Annual Mothers Who Make A Difference Awards. This year's winners include: Christie Brinkley, Jenna Elfman, Amy Poehler and Gwen Stefani.

NEW YORK, NY, April 15, 2011

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 8th. At a time when violence against children affects over 3 million children in our country, and when bullying and bullying suicides are at an all time high, Love Our Children USA announced the recipients of the Sixth Annual Mothers Who Make A Difference Awards, recognizing and supporting celebrity mothers for balancing motherhood, work and causes around the world. This year's winners include: Christie Brinkley, Jenna Elfman, Amy Poehler and Gwen Stefani.

These celebrity moms take on vital issues around the globe, giving of themselves to better the lives of complete strangers and yet still find time to balance their work and the most difficult job of all - parenting!

Ross Ellis, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Love Our Children USA said "For the sixth consecutive year we are delighted to honor and celebrate these selfless and caring women who contribute so much to their children, families, society and to various causes."

Ellis also stated "At a time when our country's youth are plagued by bullying, cyberbullying, Internet dangers, school violence and suicide, not to mention those parents in critical need of more positive parenting solutions, these mothers serve as role models for others, as their children are their first priority."

The 2011 Mothers Who Make A Difference include:

Christie Brinkley has graced over 500 magazine covers worldwide. The mother of two daughters and a son, she is an active supporter of UNICEF's Art & Entertainment Support Committee, Handgun Control, Ovarian Cancer, Susan G. Komen, Greenpeace, the Cousteau Society, Southern Poverty Law, the Wilderness Society, STAR, NY Coalition for Healthy School Food and The Ross School. She also entertained troops in Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Italy with the USO, spoke at the Parliamentary Network for Nuclear Disarmament and the Global Security Institute at the U.N., and serves on the Board of the Global Security Institute. She has appeared in PSAs for March Of Dimes and was honored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Jenna Elfman is best known as the star of Dharma and Greg. She recently completed shooting a new film, Friends With Benefits. A mother of two sons, Jenna participated in this year's National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America by reading to school children in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. From 2006 - 2008, Elfman donated an hour of her time to be auctioned off to the highest bidder on eBay as part of the "Lunch With A Leader" fundraiser, the proceeds of which benefit the work of Communities In Schools. She donated her lip print for a limited edition U.S. postage stamp created by Zazzle to celebrate Valentine's Day in 2007 and 2008, and most recently appeared in a PSA for The Humane Society.. In 2007 she was presented with the Goodwill Ambassador Award for her work in human rights and criminal rehabilitation at the Women Ambassadors Foundation 12th Annual Conference. In 2008, Jenna joined the Charity Water "September Campaign," requesting donations in lieu of birthday gifts in order to raise money to build freshwater wells in Ethiopia.

Amy Poehler, a comedian and actress was a Saturday Night Live cast member from 2001 to 2008. starred in the films Mean Girls and Baby Mama and is currently the lead of NBC's Parks and Recreation, Amy has been nominated twice for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series on Saturday Night Live, and once for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in Parks & Recreation. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Series. She is married to comedian/actor Will Arnett and two has two young sons. She supports the following charities: Artists for Peace and Justice, Autism Speaks, Rosie's Place, and the Worldwide Orphans Foundation.

Gwen Stefani is an American singer/songwriter and fashion designer. As the lead vocalist for the rock band No Doubt, Stefani recorded her first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. in 2004. She has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and won the 2005 World Music Awards "World's Best-Selling New Female Artist." Billboard magazine named Stefani thirty-seventh Hot 100 artist of the decade. In 2003, she debuted her clothing line L.A.M.B. and expanded her collection with the 2005 Harajuku Lovers line, drawing inspiration from Japanese culture and fashion. She has two sons and is married to British musician Gavin Rossdale. Gwen supports the following charities: 21st Century Leaders, Artists for Peace and Justice, Children's Hospital of Orange County, EB Medical Research Foundation, Feeding America, Keep-a-Breast Music Rising, Orangewood Children's Foundation, Save the Children, UNICEF, Whatever It Takes and Japan Earthquake Relief
