DAVIS, CA, April 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) On Wednesday, April 20th at 7:00pm Anna Grimm will speak at UCD in Wellman 212. As the internet continues to grow and academia lags behind in incorporating web studies, students seek local businesses to learn about the internet and new marketing techniques. Anna Grimm, an Online Marketing Strategist with ADPublishing.org, will give a brief overview of what internet tools students need to know about as they enter their careers.
Every website, every social media, every search engine is part of a larger marketing structure that is mostly hidden from the users view. Being aware of this marketing and how it works is an important skill for Generation Y - it may be the resume point that lands the job. The tools available are not just for internet experts, they can help students and businesses better understand market demographics and trends.
"Generation Y grew up with computers in the home" says Anna Grimm. "We learned how to navigate computers at the same time we learned our first languages - we are wired to understand the internet. I believe this source of talent will be a changing economic force in the next 10 years, we just need to learn how to harness it."
