Minority Education Workshop Addresses Why Public Schools Are Failing in Minority Communities

National minority community leaders will host a workshop; that will reveal who is profiting from this manmade disaster to fail minority children; and show how it is working towards destroying middle-class families.

2011-07-01
CAMDEN, NJ, July 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) The New Jersey Minority Educational Development organization has announced that they will bring together several of the nations top minority grassroots leaders to take part in The Save Our Schools March and National Call for Action's Conference July 28-29, 2011. They promise to address who, what, where, when, and why the nation's public education system is betraying poor minority children, and discuss how this is a man-made disaster to destroy the middle-class.

Statistics show that 88 to 91% of the nation's dropouts come from low-income minority communities. This costs taxpayers billions of dollars a year. But, where's the outrage? According to Princeton's University Professor of economics and public affairs, Cecilia Rouse, "each dropout, over his or her lifetime, costs the nation approximately $260,000." "Unless high schools are able to graduate their students at higher rates, more than 12 million students will drop out during the course of the next decade. " This will be a loss to the nation of $3 trillion.

The New Jersey Minority Educational Development organization, the primary organizer of the nation's high school drop out prevention's America First or Last: 100% Graduation Rate Movement, has witnessed these abuse, and has found a solution and prepared to expose what is forcing this unprecedented economy downfall.

Come July 29th, NJ MED with minority grassroots leaders from across the country, will share their experience about where resources our needed, and how they should be delivered. This Save Our Schools March and National Call for Action Conference 2-hour workshop in Washington, DC, will also be joined by some of the country's top educators (Dr. Diane Ratvich, Michelle Fine, Norm Scott, and Christopher Nyer) and social leaders (Beth Meyer, Curtis Acosta and the original Freedom Riders), who will also be hosting workshops at the Conference..

Parents, teachers, and community stakeholders here's your opportunity to find out the truth. For information on how you can join us live or by live teleconference, contact your local school or visit the March's organizer at Save Our Schools March and National Call for Action.

New Jersey Minority Educational Development provides an alternative lifestyle for minority youth through higher education.
