Mallorca Climbing Camps launch Deep Water Soloing Camps and Tours for Adults

Mallorca Climbing Camps bring good news for the adults climbers. The camps have started Deep Water Soloing camps and tours for the adults where the experienced climbers can face tough challenges and add more to their skills.

2011-07-02
ASPEN, CO, July 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Mallorca Climbing Camps puts a smile on adult climbers' face. Now adults can also enjoy the thrilling rock climbing activities of the camps and can seek expert advice of Amos Whiting, the coach and guide of the camps. He will guide the climbers through the different areas of the coast teaching both climbing skills and safe ways to access and escape the sea side cliffs. He will find the right kind of challenge for the adults keeping in mind the safety for all.

The camps will arrange deep water soloing tours for the adults and its scheduled time would be either pre teen camps in May or in September when the rush of the summer is over and the water is at its most pleasant state. By this time the weather is also starts to cool off thus sending the heated up mercury down. This is also done to avoid the rush during the summers when the camps would be flooded with young climbers. So to give equal attention to both kids and adults, the time has been set as such.

The lessons plan would definitely vary for the adults tours as the camps are expecting experienced climbers in this section. So the main focus of the camp would be to safely introduce the climbers to the world of deep water soloing. They would be taught the most free form of climbing. We would also be working on the routes and venues. The main safety concerns of the camp would be safe falling over the water and water exits.

Coach and guide Amos Whiting would once again be playing his vital role in teaching our skilled climbers. He would be teaching the techniques of deep water soloing through route demonstration and will coach the climbers on route either from the rock or rappel.

2011-07-02
A heightened interest in laser hair removal in Southern California has been reported by Dr. Richard Foxx, medical director and founder of The Medical and Skin Spa (www.medicalandskinspa.com) in Indian Wells. According to Dr. Foxx, warmer weather tends to result in increased popularity for hair removal procedures. "People want to feel confident and comfortable about their appearance during the summer, because they are wearing more revealing clothes such as swimsuits or shorts," Dr. Foxx says. "That's why the interest in cosmetic treatments like laser hair ...

When viruses infect bacteria

When viruses infect bacteria
2011-07-02
Viruses are the most abundant parasites on Earth. Well known viruses, such as the flu virus, attack human hosts, while viruses such as the tobacco mosaic virus infect plant hosts. More common, but less understood, are cases of viruses infecting bacteria known as bacteriophages, or phages. In part, this is due to the difficulty of culturing bacteria and viruses that have been cut off from their usual biological surroundings in a process called in vitro. Researchers from the California Institute of Technology, funded in part by the National Science Foundation, were the ...

Sun and planets constructed differently, analysis from NASA mission suggests

2011-07-02
The sun and the solar system's rocky inner planets, including the Earth, may have formed differently than previously thought, according to UCLA scientists and colleagues analyzing samples returned by NASA's Genesis mission. The data from Genesis, which collected material from the solar wind blowing from the sun, reveal differences between the sun and planets with regard to oxygen and nitrogen, two of the most abundant elements in our solar system, the researchers report in two studies in the June 24 issue of the journal Science. And although the differences are slight, ...

Faster 3-D nanoimaging a possibility with full color synchrotron light

2011-07-02
Researchers can now see objects more precisely and faster at the nanoscale due to utilising the full colour spectrum of synchrotron light, opening the way for faster 3D nanoimaging. This new methodology will provide for enhanced nanoimaging for studying bio samples for medical research, improved drug development and advanced materials for engineering. Using the Advanced Photon Source, a synchrotron facility in Chicago, USA, researchers from the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coherent X-ray Science (CXS), headquartered at the University of Melbourne, Australia, revealed ...

Key immune substance linked to asthma, Stanford study finds

2011-07-02
STANFORD, Calif. — Stanford University School of Medicine investigators have linked a master molecule of the immune system, gamma-interferon, to the pathology of asthma, in a study of mice. This somewhat surprising finding — the key immune molecule has often been assumed to steer the immune system in a different direction from the cluster of allergic disorders to which asthma belongs — could lead to new treatments for the disease. Gamma interferon's role in asthma has been fuzzy. High levels of this substance in children's blood seem to be protective against the development ...
