TEC Detroit announces name change to Vistage Michigan

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI, September 26, 2010 (Press-News.org) TEC (The Executive Committee) Detroit, a membership-based organization that delivers valuable direction through a unique blend of tools and resources to business leaders, today announced its corporate name change to Vistage Michigan. The announcement was made by organization CEO and Chairman Robert Holland.
"As the local world partner of Vistage International, which is the world's leading chief executive organization, we are pleased to have changed our name to align with our corporate identity," said Holland. "In 2006, the name Vistage was created through a combination of the words 'vista' and 'advantage.' It is a reference to the valuable perspectives CEOs of businesses and organizations are afforded at the top."

Vistage Michigan currently operates 12 Chief Executive (CE) Groups in southeast Michigan comprised of approximately 16 members per group, including a group chair who is a highly experienced business leader. The chair acts as the advisor for each CE group and business mentor to each individual member.

To become a group member, a CEO needs to be invited and cannot work in an industry that is already represented in that particular group.
In 1957, a Milwaukee businessman founded TEC to organize a group of non-competing executives and improve their business effectiveness. Members met monthly and shared ideas, experiences and provided each other with suggestions for individual improvement.
