Local HR Management Firm Offers Training For Business Professionals

GREENSBORO, NC, August 01, 2012

-"Customer Service Excellence Certification Program" is a two-day, highly interactive program that will teach participants how to provide extraordinary customer service through maximizing customer relationships. Course participants will learn how to apply customer service excellence as a business differentiator, and identify internal and external customers and the five characteristics they most care about. -"Ask the Expert - How Baseline Affects Bottom-Line: Reducing Work Disability" is a complimentary program for CAI members only. Debra C. Lord, president of Job Ready Services, will lead the program providing information and answering questions about the importance of effective baseline measures. Additionally, she will explain how these measures can help provide employers with the ability to reduce work-related deficits, protect employees from unnecessary risks and identify the best methods to abate risks. The Ask the Expert programs are built to be interactive with a significant amount of time committed to answering questions from the audience. Participants are encouraged to bring questions. -"Basic FMLA: Purpose, Provisions and Regulations" is a three-hour course that will outline the details of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), including its purpose, provisions, coverage and eligibility. Through group discussions, exercises and case studies, participants will evaluate leave requests to better understand the different situations that may occur and the proper way to handle them. At the end of the course, participants will be able to identify the purpose and benefits of the FMLA, recognize when and to whom it applies, understand key provisions of the law, assist employees in handling leaves appropriately and protect their organizations from liability. -"EEO: Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation" is a half-day course in which participants will learn how to be better prepared to prevent and handle harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Participants will first learn about the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the EEO laws that the agency enforces, the charge process and the responsibilities of managers as agents of an organization. Then, through an analysis of litigation trends, recent developments in the law and actual case studies, participants will develop strategies that can help protect their companies. -"Advanced FMLA: The New Regulations and Other Leaves of Absence" is a three-hour course for HR professionals and professionals with HR duties that will go beyond the basics of the FMLA and will explore the potential mistakes employers may face. Attendees will discover practical solutions to the most troublesome FMLA issues and how to legally end extended leaves of absence with confidence. Course participants will better understand the intricacies of the FMLA, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and workers' compensation laws; evaluate how new FMLA regulations will affect their individual organizations; recognize when the laws overlap and identify how to properly resolve the overlap; develop practical solutions to compliance problems and mistakes; and bring extended and multi-issue leaves of absence to a conclusion. -"Improving Communication Using the DISC Assessment" is a three-hour course that will teach attendees how to improve communication skills by understanding individuals' DISC styles, how DISC styles affect everyday life and how to adapt communication techniques to the DISC styles of others. Course participants will uncover the four primary DISC styles, analyze their own DISC styles, describe how each DISC style prefers to communicate, identify the DISC styles of others and develop strategies to better communicate with individuals of differing DISC styles. -"Maximizing Performance: The Power of Feedback" is a three-hour course and part of the "Practical Management I Certification Series" that will use personal feedback assessments and group exercises to teach attendees the skills needed to provide feedback that will maximize employee performance. At the end of the course, attendees will be able to describe and provide reinforcing and developmental feedback to employees and practice strategies for handling pushback when delivering feedback. -"Practical Management I Certification Series" is a skill-building series comprised of eight courses that will assist managers and supervisors in sharpening their basic management skills to help increase their effectiveness as leaders and the performance of their employees. This series will offer a review of current theories in management with examples of how to apply them to the workplace. At the end of the course, participants will be able to analyze and better communicate with varying DISC styles, apply communication skills and coaching to help others through challenges, create a plan for motivating team members, develop strategies to address problem performance, and deliver an effective performance appraisal and development plan for employees. Each of the eight courses of the series may be taken individually. -"Forklift Operator: Train the Trainer" is a full-day course that will review the formal, or classroom section, of the required forklift training based on OSHA's Revised Standard for Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training. Training course materials include: the class PowerPoint presentation complete with the instructor's notes, a copy of the Powered Industrial Truck OSHA Standard and a supplemental guide for Forklift Operator: Train the Trainer with tips on how to be an effective trainer. -"Newly Appointed Supervisor Certification Program" is a two-day program that will help first-time supervisors and managers establish a strong foundation for success. The program will begin with a self assessment to identify strengths and important areas for growth to ensure a smooth and effective transition. The program will then focus on basic supervisory skill building and strategies for building trust, communicating effectively, motivating and recognizing employees, delegating, and managing conflict.
