The American Legion and Military Women Exchange are Offering Business Training Sessions at the 94th Annual American Legion Convention

The Military Women Exchange is offering training sessions, book signings, workshops, speed coaching, and mentoring at the annual American Legion Convention.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, August 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) New Jersey and California based Military Women Exchange: Operation Next Step a leader in networking for women in business or who would like to start businesses, is focusing on offering two days of workshops, book signings, mentoring and speed coaching in conjunction with the Annual 94th Convention of the American Legion. The convention is in Indianapolis, Indiana, beginning with a job fair on Saturday, August 25th followed on Monday, August 27 and 28th with a business conference segment all at the downtown Marriott.

In founding, Military Women Exchange: Operation Next Step, Andrea March and Sue Malone recognized the need for women veterans to have special programs designed by women and executed by women to transfer their military training to the job market or to launch their own businesses. Thus, was born Military Women Exchange: Operation Next Step.

The American Legion also recognized the need for a special program for women in the military and women associated with the military. And thought it was an excellent idea, to launch the first event of its kind at the 94th annual convention in Indianapolis. Joseph Sharpe, Jr., Director of the National Economic Commission for the American Legion, and his team have been working for a number of years to promote the business conference segment and felt it was a perfect time to offering trainings dedicated to women in the military.

Women in the military have put their lives on the line, "It is our turn to help them put their lives back into the workplace," said Andrea March, co-founder of Military Women Exchange: Operation Next Step and Women's Leadership Exchange. "We are taking what we have done so well for 10 years in promoting, networking and offering women in the business world a place to get even better, now it is time to help the women who have given us a free country."

Participants in the free two days of seminars will have a chance to hear from experts, including Gloria Larkin, President of TargetGov, in the field of business subject matters include, starting a business, financing the business, using social media, resume building, using ones military skills to obtain government contracting opportunities, establishing a brand, learning 5 secrets you will not learn in business school, Reinvent Yourself Now! are just some of the sessions being offered. Ms. Larkin will cover "Selling to the World's Fortune One Customer: The U.S. Federal Government." Larkin says "The $500 billion federal market is a perfect match for veterans who are business owners. Their strength, tenacity and can-do attitude will open door to success for these terrific people."

In addition, mentoring will be offered and speed coaching, women authors will be there with their books for personalized book signing. Plus, two wonderful luncheon panels with outstanding, veteran owned businesses, speaking on "How they made it work!" Followed the next day with stellar government agency experts all on a panel discussing "How the federal government can help make it work for you!"

These entire two days are focused on good, solid training and practical "take a way's" to help the woman who have done so much for our country, says, Sue Malone. "Women who have been in the military are seeing a higher rate of unemployment, we have to change this course, and we are hoping this will be the first of many steps, it takes all of us."
