Youth Media Minds of America Hosts MEGA Fundraiser to Launch Fall Media Training Program Save the Date: Saturday, September 8, 2012 (7am - 2pm)

Youth Media Minds of America will host a MEGA Fundraising Event on Saturday, September 8. 2012 in preparation for the launch of their fall Audio / Video / Multi-Media Production Training program, AVMP.

ATLANTA, GA, August 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) Youth Media Minds of America (YMMA), a non-profit organization that provides local youths with state-of-the-art, multi-media, communications training, will host a MEGA Fundraising Event on Saturday, September 8. 2012 in preparation for the launch of their fall Audio / Video / Multi-Media Production Training program, AVMP.

The all-day event will include a fish fry, bake sale, yard sale and car wash at 208 N. Clarendon Ave in Avondale Estates beginning at 7:00 am. Fundraising efforts will help support YMMA's upcoming fall media-training module for teens and young adults. Donations for the yard sale are currently being accepted; to schedule a drop off or pick up time or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, call (404) 721-2786.

YMMA invites high-school students ages 14 and up to sign-up for the upcoming, 9-week AVMP program by visiting http://www.YMMA.org and clicking on "Get Involved." Saturday classes begin September 22, 2012 at YMMA studios located at 208 N. Clarendon Avenue. Qualifying students will learn to write, film, edit, and produce original productions, including but not limited to music, news broadcasts, commercials, public service announcements and short films.

One of YMMA's most famed productions includes an original HIV/AIDS Awareness PSA that aired on WSB-TV/Channel 2 in 2007. In addition to directing and filming original broadcast content, students attending Youth Media Minds of America's AVMP training program are given various opportunities to apply their newly-learned skills at star-studded functions and community-oriented events!

YMMA turns interested teens into young media professionals who gain real-world experience as official members of the press at events like the DUB Auto Show, the Trumpet Awards, Honda's Battle of the Bands, Atlanta Football Classics, and Hip-Hop Summits which have allowed students the opportunity to meet and interview the likes of Earvin Magic Johnson, Diana Ross, Russell Simmons, Xernona Clayton, Vernon Jones, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Tyrese Gibson, Lisa Raye, and Steve Harvey among numerous other entertainers, public figures and local celebrities.
