LOS ANGELES, CA, September 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) The first post-Tohoku Earthquake issue of the Tokyo Journal hits the bookshelves on December 1st, 2012 and will be published under the new ownership of Tokyo Journal International, Inc. The 100+ page international magazine will feature articles and stories written by writers and contributors who are Tokyo and Japan veterans as well as writers from leading newspapers and magazines from around the world. The magazine has broadened its focus to include regular articles from a number of thought leaders, including public opinion analyst and social scientist Daniel Yankelovich, the Harvard and Sorbonne educated founder of the New York Times / Yankelovich Poll, now known as the New York Times / CBS Poll.
Issue #270's Feature Story highlights seven of Japan's international leaders including Sony Founder Akio Morita, Filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, Honda Founder Soichiro Honda, Architect Kisho Kurokawa, Animator Osamu Tezuka, Conductor Seiji Ozawa and Baseball Player Ichiro Suzuki. This issue will feature various interviews with a number of the world's leading thought leaders including valuable insight from Nobel Peace Prize recipient Dr. Henry Kissinger.
The magazine, which was established in 1981 was for a number of years owned and operated by Yohan, Japan's largest distributor of English publications. Since the early 80s, the magazine has been distributed in major bookstores throughout Japan as well as internationally. The magazine was later sold by Yohan in a multimillion dollar venture and for the past 15+ years was owned and operated by Tokyo-based translation and publishing company Nexxus Communications. Nexxus Communicatons' sale of the Tokyo Journal and the due diligence process was interrupted by the March 11, 2011 Tohoku Earthquake. An agreement was finally concluded and the current publisher, Tokyo Journal International, Inc. began accepting subscriptions again in 2012 with its first post-Tohoku Earthquake issue being December 2012 Issue #270.
For over 3 decades, the Tokyo Journal has provided a glimpse into Japanese culture, Japan and Asia, often through the eyes of those who have travelled and lived there. The Tokyo Journal continues this tradition while at the same time expanding the variety of topics to satisfy the diverse interests of the magazine's affluential and jet-setting international readership.

In March 2012, Pascoe County Judge Anne Wansboro ruled in favor of Thomas Filippone, who, after having travelled through an intersection that was equipped with a red-light camera, received a $158 traffic ticket in the mail.
