For Mental Health Professionals - A "Treatment Plan" For Your Practice

A new home study course that guides mental health professionals toward creating a practice that is satisfying and profitable.

CAMP HILL, PA, October 26, 2012

The Practice Institute, LLC announces publication of their Home Study Course, "Private Practice 101," designed for mental health professionals who are starting a practice or who want to expand their practice.

"It fills the gap that graduate school overlooked," explains Dr. Jeff Zimmerman, cofounder of The Practice Institute. "We learned a lot about diagnoses, treatment and case management, but virtually nothing about business."

Comprised of 20 narrated slide presentations, along with worksheets and other resources, the course guides the clinician toward creating a detailed business plan for a satisfying and successful practice. Moreover, the plan is customized to the practitioner's specific interests, values and lifestyle.

"It's kind of like a treatment plan - except it's for our business rather than for our clients," says Dr. Steve Walfish, another cofounder of The Practice Institute. "With a business plan we map out not only where we're going, but also how w're going to get there."

Elements of the Private Practice 101 Home Study Course include marketing, fee-setting, collections, professional ethics and other business topics. Also, unique to this course is instruction on how to apply these business principles to create your ideal practice.

The course is available online, as well as on DVD and USB. More details are at http://thepracticeinstitute.com/private-practice-101-home-study-course
