Hillsborough County Based D.W. Waters Medical Program Set to Make First Time Donation and Provide Student Volunteers to Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. for Laundry Project

November 13, 2012 - TAMPA, FL - The D.W. Waters program will provide volunteers and monetary donations to Current of Tampa Bay, Inc. to help wash the clothes of those less fortunate. The project will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tampa Laundry, 2501 North Tampa Street, 33602 on the corner of Columbus Drive and Tampa Street, next to Family Dollar.

This is the first time that the D.W. Waters Medical Program is partnering with Current. The program's financial and fundraising sponsor for the project is Exact Dose Pharmacy in Tampa.

Over the past few years there has been an influx of young people offering support to Current and their mission. "Youth volunteering has multiple benefits; not only do they have an opportunity to serve the community, but they also get a chance to promote a cause they deem important. We are grateful for the support of D.W. Waters medical students and their fundraising efforts for this project," said Current's Founder and President Jason Sowell.

The Laundry Love Project always seeks donations of quarters (rolls of $10), coloring books, crayons, laundry baskets and laundry detergent. Donations can be brought to the event on the morning of Friday, Nov. 16 or contact Jason Sowell at 727.537.9082. More information about this event can be found online at http://www.LaundryByCurrent.org.
