DAVIE, FL, April 13, 2013 (Press-News.org) Due to the Toral Family Foundation's collaboration on improving the lives of those whom have sustained a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), Florida Gator Alumni Magazine has featured the Founder of the Toral Family Foundation, Frank Toral, as well as Senior Partner at Toral Garcia Battista Attorneys at Law and the Professor of Emergency Medicine and Neurological Surgery and Chief of Clinical Research at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Latha Ganti Stead MD, MBA, MS, FACEP. The Toral Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing hope as well as improving the lives of all individuals whose lives have been impacted by a brain or spinal cord injury. Nearly every 21 seconds, an individual in the United States sustains a TBI and 5.3 million Americans are currently disabled by a TBI. Because these types of injuries are usually undetectable at a first glance, they are not taken as seriously as they should. In fact, even mild TBI's may have long-term effects. Many refer to Traumatic Brain Injuries as the silent epidemic and several TBI's remain undiagnosed.
The featured article, "Giving Hope", explains how the collaboration between an attorney and a physician grew to be. In addition to providing details behind Toral's motivation for starting the foundation as well as how TFF (Toral Family Foundation) took the necessary steps to fund a TBI professorship under the department of Emergency Medicine. This article reveals the fact that both professionals are dedicated to making a significant impact in the field of TBI and they focus on helping as many families find hope.
