LateRooms.com - Holkham Hall Hosts Galloway Antiques Fair in Norfolk

Holkham Hall in Norfolk is set to provide a showcase for antiques dealers from around the country in November.

2010-10-29
NORFOLK, ENGLAND, October 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Norfolk's famous Holkham Hall is due to stage a three-day antiques fair next month.

The 18th century country pile on the county's north coast will provide a showcase for Galloway Antiques, which has been organising events of this kind around the UK for more than 15 years.

People staying in Norfolk hotels will be able to view a valuable array of furniture, silver, porcelain, jewellery, paintings, glass and other items by visiting the fair between November 26th and 28th.

Some of the nation's most respected antique dealers are expected to head to Holkham for the event, which will run from 10:30 to 17:00 GMT each day.

Tickets are priced at GBP4, while under-16s will be admitted for free.

Norfolk visitors who attend the antiques fair will also have an opportunity to explore the hall itself, which was built between 1734 and 1764 by Thomas Coke, the first Earl of Leicester.

An opulent mansion in the Palladian style, the house is famous for its Marble Hall entrance area.

There are 12 state rooms available for viewing, as well as the Walled Gardens and the Bygones Museum, which is located in an external stable block built in the 1850s.

For more information on this event, visit the Holkham Hall website.
