SALT LAKE CITY, UT, April 21, 2013 (Press-News.org) Salt Lake City, UT -- Known the world over for his books on woodcraft, instructional author Mike Dunbar is releasing his imagination in a new eight-volume science fiction serial with the debut of the first of the series, "The Hampton Summit."
A middle grade (or mid grade) science fiction adventure, "The Hampton Summit" introduces us to young Mike Castleton, a young sixth-grader who loves music and enjoys his band. He and his bandmates are recruited by futuristic time travelers to prevent a murder in their hometown, which incidentally will change the future of mankind. While travelling forward in time to be trained at the Time Institute, Mike and his friends are introduced to Allie and her roommate Jen, who expose them to the fine art of traveling in time and space.
They encounter a team of renegade time travelers, who intend to kill a wheelchair-bound scientist before he can share a discovery that creates the peaceful future Allie knows and loves, and force the group of innovative and resourceful teens to risk their lives as they take on the killers. Dunbar is world-renowned for books on wood crafting, such as "Make a Windsor Chair" and "Restoring, Using and Tuning Classic Woodworking Tools." He is a Windsor chair expert, and owner of "The Windsor Chair Institute" museum in New Hampshire.
