M&D Brake Offering Free Vehicle Inspections for Los Angeles Residents During National Car Care Month

Auto Repair Establishment Helps to Ensure Safety of LA Drivers

2013-04-24
LOS ANGELES, CA, April 24, 2013 (Press-News.org) Taking steps to ensure the safety of LA drivers, auto repair establishment M&D Brake is offering free vehicle inspections for the entire month of April during National Car Care Month.

According to the Car Care Council, three out of four cars are in need of repair. The top three problem areas with vehicles include brakes, engine cooling systems, and the engine oil. Proper maintenance of a vehicle will ensure not only safety for the drivers and passengers, but lower costs overall for the life of a vehicle.

"Planning a routine maintenance program is really important for the life of the vehicle," said Dale Kosven, owner of M&D Brake. "It's always important to pay attention to any changes in your car, in particular any warning lights that come on the dashboard or any noticeable differences in the way the car drives or feels."

There are several key areas to be aware of on any vehicle. A few things to look out for:

• Make sure the battery is connected and free of corrosion; it should be replaced after three years of use
• Check the brake system and inspect the brake linings, as well as rotors and drums
• Check all tires for pressure and to ensure there's enough tread
• Wiper blades should be checked and replaced if worn
• The entire heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system (HVAC) is checked for proper functioning
• Inspect all belts and hoses and replace when cracked, leaking, rusted, or swollen
