SAN FRANCISCO, CA, April 26, 2013 (Press-News.org) "Nina Jo brings back everything I loved about the 1960s, the dream of peace, the power of love..." - Michael Buffalo Smith, http://universalmusictribe.com/
Local singer-songwriter Nina Jo Smith is releasing her debut full-length studio album People, Places and Sings on April 29th, 2013. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Smith recorded People, Places and Sings which offers an eclectic mix of original songs spanning multiple genres including Americana, folk, and country. "Hey Songwriter" has already been picked up by 356 radio stations.
Nina Jo plays guitar and ukulele with clean, inventive picking. She sings in a voice that ranges from city smooth to mountain plain. When Nina Jo returned to performing twenty years after her brother's murder, she brought the focus and passion of a martial artist to her gentle music.
Produced by Martin Young, who has worked with notable artists such as Clint Black and Martina McBride, the album features Nina Jo on vocals, guitar and ukulele, as well as Alan Thornhill (guitar and vocals) and Young himself (acoustic and electric guitars, bass, Hammond B3, percussion and keyboards).
The CD Release Party for People, Places and Sings will be held on April 28th, 2013 from 6-9pm at the Bazaar Cafe. The Bazaar Cafe is located at 5927 California St., San Francisco, CA 94121. For more information about Nina Jo Smith, visit her website at www.ninajosmith.com.
