LANSING, MI, May 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) IDV Solutions has been named a 2013 Laureate by IDG's Computerworld Honors Program. The annual award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change. IDV Solutions was selected in the "Safety and Security" category for its physical security and risk visualization (PSRV) software, Visual Command Center.
"We're honored by our selection as a Computerworld Honors Laureate," said Mark Morrison, CEO, IDV Solutions. "With Visual Command Center, it's our mission to provide companies and public safety organizations with the ability to anticipate and prioritize threats, to better protect their operations and people."
Visual Command Center enables organizations to identify, evaluate, and take action against threats to their assets, including buildings, people, and operations. It unites data from external sources, enterprise systems, and physical security devices into a consolidated real-time view. Major corporations like Microsoft and agencies including the US Department of Homeland Security use the software to monitor threats to infrastructure and assets around the world.
"Technology continues to play a pivotal role in transforming how business and society functions. For the past 25 years the Computerworld Honors Program has had the privilege of celebrating innovative IT achievements," said John Amato, vice president & publisher, Computerworld.
