GLENDALE, CA, May 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) More than 1000 people attended a fundraiser at the Alex Theatre on Sunday, May 5, for cancer awareness. More than $60,000 was raised at this event which featured world renowned comedian Maz Jobrani, K-van and Vahik Pirhamzei.
Proceeds from the event will go to cancer support services at Glendale Adventist Medical Center for the community. The event, hosted by the Dr. Norick Bogossian Cancer Care Guild, provides support services to patients diagnosed with cancer. Support services include: personal and family counseling, support groups, and classes - such as jewelry making, knitting, creative writing, fitness and image enhancing, which provides wigs, hats and scarves free of charge. All cancer patients can participate in cancer support services at the hospital (patients or not).
The Dr. Norick Bogossian Cancer Care Guild, is affiliated with Healthcare Foundation at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, which was established in May 2011 to benefit and expand services at the hospital's award-winning Cancer Center.
Dr. Norick Bogossian was a renowned plastic surgeon that specialized in cancer-related reconstructive surgery. Sadly, he lost his battle to cancer at the age of 56 in December 2009.

The guild is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers who passionately want to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer. Their motto is: Where Life, Love and Hope Connect.
