CRETE, GREECE, May 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) According to the Municipality of Hersonissos, Mr. Rekdal will create promotional material from all four municipal units of Hersonissos by using the time-lapse photography technique.
This is an innovative cinematography technique based on capturing hundreds or thousands of film frames of the same subject at regular intervals (eg. one photo per second or one photo per hour, depending on the subject) or according to a specific interval of time between frames (that can vary from a few hours to a few months).
The frames will then be included in an ultra high definition video movie of the Municipality of Hersonissos. Individual themed videos for the specialized forms of tourism (religious, nature, cycling etc) available at the destination will also be created.
The videos will be promoted on an international level.
Samples of Stian Rekdal s work can be viewed: http://vimeo.com/stianrekdal.
The Municipality of Hersonissos extends from the north coastline of central Crete to the imposing mountain chains of Lasithi. It is located a few kilometers away from the international airport "Nikos Kazantzakis" of Heraklion. Within its borders there are settlements with unique characteristics and colors.
