The Institute For Economic Empowerment Of Women CEO Recognized For Outstanding Leadership At Inaugural NWBOC Conference

2013-05-15
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, May 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women (IEEW) (http://ieew.org), a nonprofit organization that encourages women's leadership and entrepreneurship through education and mentoring initiatives, has announced that CEO Dr. Terry Neese received the 2013 Global Leader Award from the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) at their inaugural national conference "Decades of Excellence" on Friday, May 10. The country's top women business professionals gathered in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., at the PGA National Resort and Spa to celebrate women's success while networking and engaging with one another. The NWBOC Global Leader Award recognizes women who have shown strong leadership skills as they champion connections internationally through their positions as business owners. Neese was chosen based on her continued commitment to educating and empowering women across the globe economically, socially and politically.

Based in Oklahoma City, Okla., Neese established IEEW with the purpose of helping women across the United States as they acquire the entrepreneurial skills necessary to start and grow a business. Soon after, she developed IEEW's PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS Program, a business training and mentorship program for women entrepreneurs in Afghanistan and Rwanda, to connect women on an international level in business as they become the change agents for peace in countries where women face oppression and marginalization. She has dedicated her work to perpetuating women's involvement in business as she helps women network among other professionals while gaining the basic business skills needed to generate success.

For more than 18 years, the national nonprofit organization NWBOC has increased competition for corporate and government contracts by implementing a pioneering economic development strategy for women business owners as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certifier. QUOTE:
"I am honored to receive the Global Leader Award from NWBOC for my continued efforts to strengthen the role of women in business both at home and abroad," said Neese.
