"I think the combination of the economic recovery finally taking place, along with the anticipation of potentially phenomenal ski conditions thanks to the La Nina weather pattern are really giving the 2011 Heli-Skiing season an opportunity to be a great one," says Jackson. "One heliskiing operator in Canada I spoke with was already sold out for the 2011 season by mid-August."
With some statistical models suggesting that the regions of Alaska and British Columbia can expect anywhere from 125% to 150% or more of their typical annual snowfall this upcoming season, demand is expected to continue to grow as the heliski season draws ever closer to its late November or early December launch.
