United Church Homes has hired the Rev. Beth Long-Higgins to serve as director of church and community relations.

2013-05-21
MARION, OH, May 21, 2013 (Press-News.org) United Church Homes has hired the Rev. Beth Long-Higgins to serve as director of church and community relations.

She will coordinate a comprehensive program of outreach to congregations, pastors, health care partners and civic groups.

Long-Higgins has served on United Church Homes' board of directors since 2007 and worked as a co-pastor of David's United Church of Christ in Canal Winchester, Ohio, with her husband since 1996. She earned a master's in divinity from the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and a bachelor's degree in psychology and piano performance from Heidelberg University.

"My grandparents lived at Chapel Hill, a United Church Homes community, in the 1970s," she says. "This is an exciting time for United Church Homes and I look forward to building and managing relationships with our family of partners."

The Rev. Kenneth Daniel, president and CEO of United Church Homes, says Long-Higgins brings the right combination of experience and skill to the organization.

"Long-Higgins has been very involved with United Church Homes over the past several years and her background with the United Church of Christ will be valuable as we continue to develop strong relationships with our partners and communities," he says.

United Church Homes has been "Celebrating the Spirit" of older adults for nearly a century. The nonprofit, faith-based senior living organization based in Marion, Ohio, serves more than 3,500 seniors in 66 communities located in more than a dozen states nationwide. United Church Homes is in covenant with the United Church of Christ and welcomes residents of all faiths.
